Spring and Summer 2010 Public Teachings
Denver and Boulder
All are welcome to attend public talks with Anyen Rinpoche. Talks are scheduled periodically;
as well as in a formal class setting for a series of 4-6 weeks. This spring, Anyen Rinpoche
will be teaching a 5 week class on the Four Mind Turnings for any interested practitoners.
Public teachings usually consist of a short group meditation period, a lecture by Rinpoche,
and a question/answer period where you can ask questions about how to apply the teachings.
Students of any experience level are welcome, as Rinpoche skillfully tailors his teachings
to the disposition of all those present, enabling him to benefit a wide variety of students.
Our sangha also often meet to practice tsok, or feast offerings. All are welcome to join us!
For students who are really looking to deepen their commitment and practice, we suggest looking
at the shedra page to learn more about Anyen Rinpoche's intensive teachings on Vajrayana Buddhism.
Recordings of past teaching sessions are available through our subscription service.
Student discounts are available. Please email us at info@anyenrinpoche.com for more information.

Medicine Buddha Monlam 2010
Denver Zen Center
June 4th - 7th
The purpose of the Medicine Buddha Monlam is to gather as many spiritual practitioners together as possible for 3 days, and to use our combined motivation and act of reciting and praying Ju Mipham's "Condensed Sadhana of the Medicine Buddha: An Excellent Vase of Nectar" as a way to bring healing energy to ourselves and to beings suffering everywhere. By focusing ourselves completely on this practice, not only do we gathered increase our love, compassion and abiltity to benefit others through doing the practice, but also, we touch others directly through the power of this sadhana--which has healed countless beings since it was composed. The idea behind a Monlam is, of course, that we are more capable of benefiting beings by gathering together, and that we can make a greater difference by praying together than we can on our own.
No experience is necessary and everyone, regardless of experience, are very welcome!
Please see visit our Monlam page for more information.
Cost: $175 (includes a $25 donation to Children's Scholarship fund), $50 donation for Friday night empowerment/talk if you have never received the empowerment from Anyen Rinpoche
Nyungne Retreat 2010
Idaho Springs, Colorado
July 10-17
Nyungne, literally "ritual fasting," is an intensive Vajrayana practice that our sangha does annually. Anyen Rinpoche started this practice based on the direction of his root lama, Kyabje Tsara Dharmakirti Rinpcohe, who prophecied this practice as being extremely beneficial for Western Vajryana Buddhists. Our nyungne retreat uses a profound Avalokitesvara sadhana, a "mind treasure" composed by Kyabje Tsara Dharmakirti Rinpoche's root Lama, as its basis. We fast 24 hours at a time, having a large "feast meal" each day, and the retreat combines group practice Bodhichitta and the view with individual practice time. Everyone who does this practice loves it, and the intimate feeling of sharing the practice with Anyen Rinpoche and our sangha!
Cost: $300 for retreat, and a donation of any amount for use of the center in Idaho Springs, CO
Momentary Buddhahood: Mindfulness and the Vajrayana Path
Rinpoche will be giving a series of lectures on his new book Momentary Buddhahood.
In this book, Rinpoche dispels a common misconception among Western Vajrayana Buddhists:
that mindfulness is a Zen teaching and thus not essential for tantric practice. Rinpoche
is adamant that Vajrayana practitioners should fully understand the crucial support that
mindfulness brings to the practice of tantric meditation, especially to Dzogchen meditation.
He also clarifies the concept of mindfulness itself, giving it the true depth and meaning that
is often lost in Western teachings. This book is perfect for true beginners or experienced practitioners alike!
