The Monlam will commence with the Medicine Buddha empowerment for anyone who needs it on Friday night June 4. Anyone who has received the Medicine Buddha empowerment from Anyen Rinpoche may attend that evening if they wish by making a donation in an envelope to Rinpoche; there is no set charge.
The cost of the monlam falls into two different categories: those students who have already received the Medicine Buddha Empowerment from Anyen Rinpoche and those who have not and will receive it from him the evening before the Monlam commences.
For students who already received the empowerment from Anyen Rinpoche, the cost of the monlam for all day Saturday/Sunday/Monday is $175, which includes a $25 tax-deductible donation for Tibetan children's education. Please use this page to register for and pay for the Monlam only. For those receiving the empowerment from Rinpoche for the first time beginning on June 4, the cost is $225, which includes a $25 tax-deductible donation for Tibetan children's education. The full offering can be made on the website.
Those who pay the cost of the Monlam in full enable us to provide scholarships and financial assistance to those students wishing to attend who have true financial need. For those who did not attend the Monlam last year, there is a download of Rinpoche's Monlam talk available on the website, which can be obtained by registering/paying online. That way, everyone will have the complete preparation instructions before we gather together. The cost of the sadhana booklet is $20.
Feel free to register on the site and pay by paypal. If you wish to pay by check, please contact us by email. If you need financial assistance or can only attend part of the monlam, please contact us. If you have contacted us and are attending by donation, please use the registration page to register but make your offering at the door when you arrive.
Medicine Buddha Monlam Registration (June
4-7 program)

The
purpose of the Medicine Buddha Monlam is to gather as many
spiritual practitioners together as
possible for 3 days, and to use our
combined motivation and act of reciting
and praying Ju Mipham's "Condensed
Sadhana of the Medicine Buddha: An
Excellent Vase of Nectar" as a way to
bring healing energy to ourselves and to
beings suffering everywhere. By focusing
ourselves completely on this practice,
not only do we gathered increase our
love, compassion and abiltity to benefit
others through doing the practice, but
also, we touch others directly through
the power of this sadhana--which has
healed countless beings since it was
composed. The idea behind a Monlam is,
of course, that we are more capable of
benefiting beings by gathering together,
and that we can make a greater
difference by praying together than we
can on our own.
In beginning the
Monlam in America, Anyen Rinpoche
continues a tradition begun long ago by
his Lama, Tsara Dharmakirti Rinpoche,
who realized this practice and used it
to heal not only himself from cancer,
but countlesss others from mental and
physical illnesses. We are happy to
finally be able to have the opportunity
to share this practice and tradition
with all who attend!
